CREW – short starter walks
Brighouse – Canal walk
We start our walk from the Central Methodist Church, walk down towards Wilkinsons to Thornton Square. Cross over the pedestrian crossing, keep right and pass Kwik Fit, continue along Owler Ings Road.
Turn right past the building (once the Job Centre) and turn left along Bank Street, continue straight ahead and you will join Elland Road.
Keep left and continue along the footpath heading towards Elland. You will pass the former Red Rooster Pub and the industrial site to your right.
Pass the turning to Southowram and turn left into the factory site (there have been several company’s over the years and the names keep changing). Walk down the access road over the canal bridge.
Turn left and join the canal towpath, continue along until you reach the Anchor Bridge, leave the towpath, turn left and walk back towards the bus station and church.
